Welcome to Grand Turk

Welcome to Grand Turk, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. From June 25 through July 2nd, 2005, my longtime dive buddy - and close friend - William King, and I snuck away for our annual dive junket. We try to discover someplace new each year where the diving experience is unique. This year we chose Grand Turk.

The Turks and Caicos are a small cluster of British protectorates between the tail bone of The Bahamas and Española. Grand Turk is the capital of the group, but certainly not the most developed. With a population of less than 4,000, the island is only about seven miles long and a mile and a half wide.

We dove with Oasis Divers and stayed in a "suite" at the quaint eight-room Island House.
