How can you tell if a WordPress theme is Responsive or not?

Hi Janine,

In your creativeLIVE courses you recommend that I get a template for my WordPress site that uses Responsive Design, but how do I know if a template works on phones and tablets?

Hi John,

You can tell if a template is responsive by clicking and dragging the edge your browser window while you’re previewing the template.

If the template content adjusts to better fit the screen space (meaning images and columns get smaller, or wrap down below each other as the screen gets smaller), then you know it’s responsive.

I wanted to pass on a success story. Last evening, a new global customer called with an issue with their Dreamweaver site. The original author of the site was long gone and they had several companies take a look at the problem, but to no avail. They had a problem where many linked pages based on a template were not getting updated - there were 257 pages affected.

I recalled your troubleshooting tip to make sure all pages were published after updating a template. Your advice was right on target.
