I was fortunate to take all of these photos on a lovely afternoon hike in the spring of 2006. The deer were easily spooked as most deer are, but walking quietly through the woods I was able to get quite close to many of these beautiful animals that day.
Sadly, these photos were taken before the park's most recent --, and most devastating -- eradication.
It is believed that there may still be a Fallow or Axis deer living on the National Searshore, but I have not seen another since the day I took these photos...
